General Information About DEPAWALI FESTIVAL
β¨ Why is the Diwali Festival so important?
Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is the most significant and eagerly awaited celebration across India. The name comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali, meaning "a row of lit lamps." This festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
For five consecutive days, families across India clean their homes, light oil lamps (diyas), decorate with colorful rangolis, wear traditional clothing, exchange gifts, and enjoy typical sweets. The most special moment occurs on the main night, when homage is paid to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and the skies are filled with fireworks as a symbol of joy, hope, and spiritual renewal.
Celebrating Diwali in India is a way to experience spirituality, tradition, and the warmth of its people in a truly authentic and unforgettable way.
